The Metro Wastewater Reclamation District (MWRD) of Denver, Colorado has provided wastewater treatment services for the city as well as some neighboring counties since 1961. Its main treatment facility serves an estimated two million people from Denver, Arvada, Aurora, Lakewood, and Westminster, resulting in roughly 130 million gallons of treated and reclaimed water per day. The MWRD noticed that some of their manholes were severely corroded due to high levels of H2S gas, as well as inflow and infiltration. The district awarded the manhole rehabilitation project to Warren Environmental and our master applicator, A&W Maintenance.

The A&W crew rehabilitated 65 manholes using Warren’s 301-14 high-performance epoxy. Warren’s epoxy system helped streamline MWRD’s rehabilitation process, while reducing the amount of repair required long-term. The coating served as a barrier coating, preventing further I&I, as well as corrosion from H2S gases. 

A&W was also tasked with replacing the steps to each of 65 structures, 500 steps in total. A&W inserted these steps into the manhole walls using Warren’s epoxy mastic coating. Once in place, they spray lined the steps with Warren’s 301-14 epoxy.
